Engagement Photos are always special, a time spent getting to know each other, laugh, bond with your photographer and your partner in a whole new way. It was this couples first time stepping in front of the camera together, and like many couples, they arrived with a mix of excitement and nerves. The pre-photo jitters were real, but they didn’t last long.

We started with some gentle poses under the Santa Barbra courthouse’s iconic arches, letting them ease into the experience. But it wasn’t until they kicked off their shoes and ran barefoot across the lush green lawn that their personalities truly began to shine. The simple act of grounding themselves on the soft grass brought out their playful sides, and suddenly, the nerves melted away. Their laughter was contagious as they twirled, raced, and leaned into each other for those natural, candid moments that make sessions like this so memorable.

From the intricate Spanish tiles to the grand staircase, each backdrop added a layer of elegance to their carefree joy. They even joked that they felt like kids again, running around and having fun with no agenda—just pure, unfiltered happiness.

By the end of our time together, none of us wanted the session to end. These engagement photos felt less like work and more like a celebration of their love and the exciting journey ahead. This session was a beautiful reminder of why I do what I do: capturing authentic moments that tell a story and leave lasting memories.
